He is one of the Founder members of Rangmanch . Jayanta is also a Mechanical Engineer currently employed in a responsible position with a Government organization in NZ.
Jayanta is a true artist and a very well acknowledged personality within the cultural fraternity of the Bengali migrant community in Auckland.
He is also the current President of Probasee Bengalee Association Inc. of New Zealand and has been a leading member of their team for various social activities and their annual Bengali Drama presentation.
His literary acumen and sense of drama are of the highest level. He is an Actor Director par excellence and has acted and directed most of the Hindi Productions of Rangmanch till date and many plays for Probasee Bengali Association of New Zealand.All his directorial presentations have won huge acclaim from the critics and the general theatre loving audience of Auckland.
Pavitra is an Electrical & Electronics Engineer currently managing his own enterprise, a very down to earth human being. His very presence in all group meetings/ social get togethers, radiate a calming effect. He generates the impression of a great thinker (which he truly is) and a person who will be able to solve any problem.
Pavitra has been the General Secretary of the Local Bengali Association and is a keen and regular participant in various community activities, sports and cultural functions.
His contributions are immeasurable in the success of many activities for various socio cultural organisations, he had been involved with.
Ujjal is also one of the three founder members of Rangmanch. He is the Nominated Convener of the International Theatre Festival – 2018.
Ujjal is a committed theatre enthusiast with an authentic vision and years of theatre experience from India! One of our most intense and soulful actors he if often shy of the limelight and prefers a “behind the scenes” role, but his acting prowess has meant that Ujjal has appeared in leading roles in most of the Rangmanch Hindi Productions till date since its inception. His on-stage persona is strong yet sensitive whether it be “Dildar” the ideal artist or “Gagan” the flamboyant truck driver in “Zimmedari”, The Penniless Prince in “Ballavpur Ki Kahani” or the struggling young Motor Mechanic dreaming of making it big in an overseas country – from “Sunehre Sapne” which incidentally was his Directorial debut.
Ujjal is also a Mechanical engineer with a Masters degree from a premier Institute in India and currently employed with a multi-national engineering contracting company. He also spends a lot of his time pursuing his many hobbies that include wild life photography, cooking, travelling and music, theatre being his first love! Other than playing the lead roles in most of Rangmanch production earlier he has been performed as a principal /important performer in many Bengali and English Productions.
He has also directed a few plays till date (Sunehre Sapne and Gulbaz the Man of the match for Rangmanch and Dournama for Probasee Bengalee Association of New Zealand). His plays both as a Director and as a performer have won the acclaim of the audience and critics alike.
He was also the Convener of Rangmanch Indian Theatre Festival in 2015 which incidentally was a milestone event in the world of community Theatre in Auckland.
Chirag holds an MBA degree with specialisation in Marketing and Finance from India. He has been on board with Rangmanch since its early days and has the distinction of wearing many different hats for the organization! Chirag brings with him theatre experience from working on various street plays and skits in India. An entrepreneur and business person, Chirag is director of The International Homeopathy College, based in Auckland. A multi-talented, individual Chirag has played many different roles in Rangmanch plays and is a dedicated team player who brings tons of fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the rest of us!
Not only is Chirag a keen theatre enthusiast he also has great insight into how Rangmanch can be made more accessible to all, acting as an interface with those on stage and the audience.He is a very passionate and committed stage actor having performed major roles in several of Rangmanch Hindi productions and been the lead actor in several Gujarati productions of Rangmanch.
Babla is our Treasurer and the pillar at the back stage of all Rangmanch Productions. He is a Graduate in Literature and commerce with Post Graduate specialization in Advertisement and Marketing . Babla’s commitment towards the cause of Rangmanch is unbelievable and we owe a lot to him for the success of our productions specially the marketing , promotion and back stage production management.
Shriya Bhagwat-Chitale is a communications professional by day and a creative by night. She is contributing her skills in PR, marketing and publicity for the International Theatre Festival 2018.
Bikram is a professional with a MBA degree – working with a multinational company in Auckland. A keen Drama enthusiast and actor par excellence. He has taken part in several Rangmanch Productions and at one time was also the treasure of Rangmanch. A great affable person – with his debonair looks and pleasant personality he is a really a gem of a person to have in the group with his valuable suggestions an insights regarding management issues.
Santanu’s association with Art/Culture: has been Lifelong. He is an Engineer by profession. He is a very active community worker and been the General Secretary of Probasee Bengali Association of NZ Inc. for 4 years and their Sports Secretary for 1 year. His association with Theatre has been very multifaceted as he several skill areas other than being a capable stage performer.
He is an excellent Stage Designer and quite proficient with music recording and editing. He has also acted in a Bengali short film and been involved with Art direction of Auckland produced Bengali and Hindi Short films.
